There is no doubt that the hero gains the Rune of Punishment after defeating Glen, as they are seen in a duel. He is probably going to have a fallout with his initial allegiance - Snow's household, and go through a uniform change as well as change in weaponry.

Brandeau is the only character in Suikoden 4 who is already officially confirmed to die. Doesn't that suck? He shows brilliant swordplay in his duel with the hero, so it's too bad he will not be playable. He seems to lead a pirate attack onto the hero's town, where the duel takes place (seems like the duel was moved aboard a ship in later trailers). Later on, it seems like the hero along with Snow and Glen strikes back, and defeats him, resulting in his death.

There's really no spoilers regarding this character, but if the setting takes place 150 years before Suikoden 1, she can be a pretty close relative to Julian Silverberg, the first Silverberg noted in history. She has a very tough personality, and in once scene she says, "Those who fear runes can leave, no one will stop you."

Glen Cott is the captain of the Marine Knights of Gaien, and superior of Katarina, Snowe, and the hero. He is seen in many scenes, and seems to be a powerful swordsman. He officially receives the Rune of Punishment from Brandeau after he is defeated, and thus his fate, in turn, would probably be in jeopardy.

It seems like Glen would die, purely based on the fact that the Rune of Punishment gets transferred to him after the death of Brandeau. Glen is seen fighting against the hero, and likely the Rune of Punishment will be transferred to the hero after the death of Glen. Glen is also nobility, as seen with his last name--and has a very frank relationship with Vincent Vingerfut, and obviously has no problem scolding Snowe--as seen in one scene where he punches him for incompetence.

She will be a combat character in Suikoden 4 for the first time in the series. She is seen in a "Pretty woman attack" unite along with Kika and the Swordmistress.

Knowing that Suikoden 4 may take place 150 years before Suikoden 1, the mystery of Jeane's longevity only deepens. Knowing that she can not be a True Rune bearer (Konami has officially denied that), and the fact that she can not be a vampire (Sierra would have known), her nature is further thrust into mystery. Konami's comment that, "Every member of Jeane's family looks the same" seems to gain more credibility.

Based on the trailer, it seems like a lot of the non-standard-soldier-looking characters will be joining the hero (along with a costume change) like Paula, Taru, Jewel, and Keneth. Hopefully, this character will also join. There's also rumors about romance between her and Glen.

One wild speculation would be that she would be the Tenkan Star? I mean, who can fill the void left by Luc?

Snow seems to start off friendly, but his relationship with the hero seems to sour later on. This is pure speculation, but it seems like Snow proves to be an inept captain, abandoning his ship before his troops (Brandeau seems to be the attacker). In one scene, Glen is seen punching Snow, calling him a coward for abandoning his ship. In another scene, Snow is seen leaving a ship, telling the hero that he has always disliked him for being a do-gooder.

Vincent Vingerfut is the count of Razril within the Dukedom of Gaien and father of Snowe. He is seen in one scene, congratulating the induction of new knights into the Marine Knights of Gaien. It seems like he employs the knights. It is highly likely that these "knights" include the hero and Snowe.

Count Vingerfut is Snowe's father. Because his scene takes place in the same city patrolled by the hero and Snow, Vingerfut would definately be the employer of the hero. Whether he would play any significant role in the game would be unknown, but based on previous games, characters who have titles included in their name above their avatar would never join the 108 stars (Same as "Pirate Brandeau")

A young man who wields a two-handed sword. He is the same race as Jewel and Rakzie.

He has a unite attack with the evlen warrior and another two-handed sword user. In once scene, he is with Reno En Crudez--Reno says, "The folks from this island are all such..." and this guy looks at Reno. Perhaps Reno is talking about this guy's race. If that is the case, the white-haired, red-triangle on forehead race may have a questioable relationship with the Kingdom of Ovelle.
